Seeds from a real breeding program
These aren't white-label seeds with our sticker on the pack. Flow Gardens runs one of the few serious in-house breeding programs in craft hemp — entire facilities turned over to crosses, phenohunts and selection, using the same award-winning mothers behind the flower in our jars. Every line here is feminized, bred from parents that were tested and selected in-house, and stored in a refrigerated vault until the day it ships.
To put the scale of it in perspective: last year our grower shut down a four-room, eighty-light flower facility and converted the whole building into a breeding project, reversing his best CBD plants — Peyton Strawberries and Strawberry Lemon Gush among them — to pollinate the rest of the library. That project produced roughly two million feminized CBD seeds, and they're in the vault.
What feminized means, and why it matters
Feminized seeds are bred so that effectively every plant comes out female — the ones that produce flower. Male plants produce pollen and nothing you want to smoke, and in a conventional seed run roughly half your plants are male, which you then have to identify and remove mid-grow.
At small scale that's the difference between a productive room and a wasted one. No slots lost to plants you'll cull, no risk of a missed male pollinating the whole room and turning your harvest to seed. If you're growing a tent or a few lights, feminized is not a luxury.
What's in the library
Lines are available across the chemotypes:
Type 1 (THCa) — the classic, high-THCa genetics.
Type 2 (balanced) — the category Flow Gardens helped make famous, carrying real amounts of both CBD and THCa. With the Type 2 flower collection in its final commercial season, seed is how these genetics continue.
Type 3 (CBD) — CBD-dominant lines, including bulk feminized CBD seed for larger plantings.
A note on what's being selected for right now: getting a CBD plant reliably under 0.3% total THC post-harvest is genuinely hard — most land at 0.5%, 0.6% or higher. The program screens leaf samples for cannabinoid content early, culls the ones that will run hot, and breeds forward from the low ones. That's the work behind the December 2026 rule change, and it's been running for years rather than months.
Buying ahead is a reasonable play
Stored cool and dry, quality seed keeps for years — ours lives refrigerated until it ships for exactly that reason, and properly stored seed stays viable upwards of a decade. With the December 2026 rules reshaping what flower can be sold and trusted compliant genetics becoming the most valuable thing in hemp, securing lines you trust now is the long game. European growers have worked this out faster than American ones: we've sold more of this seed into France, Italy and Spain than we have domestically.
And if you want the story behind a line — the parents, the hunt, why it was kept — ask. The grower who made the cross is the one answering.
Seeds FAQ
Are these seeds feminized?
Yes — every line in this collection is feminized, from our own breeding program.
How should I store seeds?
Cool, dry, dark and airtight. Stored properly, quality seed stays viable for ten years or more. A sealed container in the fridge is the gold standard — it's how we store them ourselves.
Seeds or clones — which should I choose?
Seeds give you vigour, long-term storability and the chance to hunt your own keeper. Clones give you an exact genetic copy of a proven plant with the selection work already done. If you want to grow a known quantity, take the clone; if you want to find something nobody else has, pop seeds.
What's the difference between the type numbers?
Type 1 lines lean THCa-dominant, Type 2 balanced, Type 3 CBD-dominant. Each listing says what the line is, and the types explainer covers the system.
Do you sell bulk seed for farms?
Yes — bulk feminized CBD seed is available for larger plantings, and there's considerable volume in the vault. Get in touch for anything beyond pack quantities.
Are these bred to pass the new December 2026 THC limit?
That's exactly what the current CBD breeding program is selecting for. Compliant keepers are in hand and more are in the pipeline. Ask about a specific line rather than assuming — and read the rule guide for what's changing.
Can I legally grow these?
Rules on growing hemp and cannabis vary by state and change often — it's on you to know your local laws before germinating anything. We sell genetics; we can't advise on your state's rules.
Do you ship seeds internationally?
We do, and we've sent a good deal into Europe. Timing matters: autumn and spring, when temperatures en route are kind to seed. Shipping is on the buyer.
