The hashish of Morocco, Lebanon and Afghanistan started exactly this way: dry plant material, a screen, patience, and gravity. How it's made
Cured flower is agitated over a series of fine screens. The trichome heads — the resin glands that hold virtually all the cannabinoids and terpenes — are brittle enough to snap off and small enough to fall through, while most of the plant material stays behind. Finer screens, more passes and more careful handling mean a purer product with less leaf in it.
That's the whole process. No solvent to purge, no water to dry off, no press. It's also why starting material matters so much: intact trichomes from indoor craft flower give clean heads, whereas machine-handled outdoor biomass gives dust.
Four ways to use one jar
Crown a bowl. A pinch on top of flower gives a stronger, slower burn and a layered flavour.
Roll a line through a joint. The oldest upgrade in the book and still one of the best.
Dab it low-temp. Good sift melts cleanly at gentle temperatures; how much residue is left behind is a fair real-world test of its purity.
Press it yourself. Fresh sift is exactly what rosin pressers start with. A jar of quality sift and a small press is the cheapest route to homemade dry sift rosin.

Not all sift is the same, and we don't pretend otherwise. Purity varies with the screen, the material and the number of passes. Pressing sift into rosin at home
One of the better reasons to buy sift is that it's raw material as well as a finished product. Dry sift rosin is one of the easiest solventless products to make yourself, and it needs far less equipment than people assume.
The principles: lower temperature than you'd use for flower, because you're melting resin rather than squeezing a bud; a fine bag, since there's no plant material to filter out and you don't want sift escaping; and modest pressure, applied slowly — rushing it scorches the terpenes you're trying to capture. Yield depends almost entirely on purity: cleaner sift with more intact trichome heads gives up more rosin and leaves less behind in the bag. That's the practical argument for buying graded sift like Piur Select rather than grinder kief.

Is sift the same as kief?
Same material, different standards. Grinder kief is whatever fell off your flower; graded sift is deliberately collected and screened for purity, so far more of it is actual trichome heads.

Can I press sift into rosin?
Yes, and that's one of the best reasons to buy it. Fresh sift is standard starting material for rosin pressing; low temperature and a fine bag are all it takes.
How should I dab it?
Low temperature and small amounts. Good sift melts cleanly; what's left in the banger tells you about its purity.
Will it show on a drug test?
THCa sift, yes — treat it exactly like cannabis. Even CBD-type sift carries trace THC.
Storage?
Airtight, cool, dark. Separated and dried, trichomes keep well — but heat still eats the terpenes.
What yield should I expect if I press it?

Does sift need decarbing to use in edibles?
