There's only a limited quantity of each batch. If you know, you know.

About Small Batch

Limited runs straight out of the hunt

Small Batch is where the experiments land: limited runs — sometimes as few as thirty jars — of new crosses, tissue-culture grows and keeper phenos, including collaborations with breeders we rate like Capulator and James Loud. These strains may never come back, and that's the deal. When a run is gone, it's gone, and the reviews are the only record it existed.

Why small batches exist at all

Finding a keeper means growing out dozens of plants to keep one. Our grower will pop a ten or thirty seed pack, raise every plant, and judge them on effects first, then smell, then looks — rubbing the sugar leaf beside a bud mid-flower to get an early read on the terpene profile. Most of those plants don't make it. One might.

Small Batch is how that hunt pays its way. The most interesting selections get a limited commercial run, the community votes with its jars and its reviews, and the strains that earn it move into the permanent lineup. Buying here is genuinely participating in the breeding program rather than just reading about it.

What you're actually getting

Same room, same standards, same paperwork as everything else: indoor grown, fourteen-day cold dry at around 65°F, hand trimmed, and a certificate of analysis per batch in the COA library. The only difference is quantity and permanence.

And because these runs are small and new, they're the freshest flower on the site — straight off the cycle, weeks old, usually with no reviews yet because nobody has smoked them. If you like being first, this is the page to watch. Drops are announced to the mailing list before anything else.

Small Batch FAQ

How limited is limited?

Each listing says — typically 30 to 60 jars per run. No restocks unless the grower decides a strain earned a full run.

Why buy small batch?

To smoke things almost nobody else will ever smoke, at the freshest point in their existence — and to have a say in which strains become permanent.

Same standards as the main line?

Same room, same 14-day cold dry, same hand trim, same COA per batch. The only thing that's different is how much of it exists.

What does "tissue culture" mean on a listing?

A lab-clean way of propagating a genetic — plants started from sterile cultured tissue rather than cuttings, which keeps rare lines healthy and genetically true over time.

Will a strain I liked ever come back?

Sometimes. If a run sells through and the reviews are strong, it's a candidate for the permanent lineup. If it doesn't, it was a one-off and the jar you bought was the whole story.

Can I buy the genetics instead?

Occasionally — keepers that prove themselves here often turn up later as clones or seeds.
