Description

Northern Lights #5 is a legacy strain first introduced in 1989. A lot has changed since then, but those earthy, piney notes it’s known for are still there. It’s said that there are 11 different versions of Northern Lights, but #5 is the best of all. These large buds are dense and gorgeous! The smell and flavor is lemony pine and the effects are relaxing and euphoric. There's a good reason this strain is still around after all these years!

    Beautiful large nugs

Very earthy/piney/organic smell. Large nugs with green & purple hues. Very relaxing - nice in the vape.

    Love it!

Don't let the thca percentage fool you on this one, it is potent. The gas mintz has almost double the thca than NL but the NL hits me way harder. Smooth smoke with a subtle but delicious flavor. Definitely indica effects but it doesn't make me sleepy. I find it to be a great and relaxing daytime smoke.

Pretty good, just not for me

Posted by Kyle Spratt on Aug 1st 2024

Ever so slightly muted, with a terp profile that I do not care for this was my first and last time I smoke NL#5. Don't get me wrong it's strong and has amazing effects, just too indica dominate for me. Feels like 70-80%indica to me. My head stayed pretty much clear while my body got real heavy. For me the come up was slightly scarey as it made me have to manually breath for like 20 minutes. The ride lasted around 1h 30 mins off of 1 small hit with little to no tolerance. If you enjoy strong indica effects with a slight head euphoria this may be for you.

This is definitely an even hybrid strain, gets the job done but not one of my favorites.

    A dreamy and refreshing strain

Posted by Bear on Jul 20th 2024

I tried NL for the first time a couple of months ago and, since then, it's been an integral part of my rotation. The buds I got were terpy and resinous (something I like) and when I cracked it open, it smelled like walking into a pine forest after the rain. Subtle hints of wood and earth paired with clean pine. Upon, I noticed very slight hints of pepper on the exhale. Effect wise, I experienced relaxation of the muscles, a calm, even flow of thought, slight arousal, and (mostly) munchies. It's enough to keep you couch locked for awhile without falling asleep. 9/10, one of my favorite strains and perfect for regular use.

    Perfect Indica

Posted by Tyler on Jul 20th 2024

This batch isn’t like the more piney, spicy cuts of NL I enjoyed in the past… But it’s still great stuff nonetheless!! The buds radiate a very skunky and dank smell while the taste is predominantly spicy and peppery on the exhale... Effects for me are totally “indica” though and through… Can be quite hypnotic just like the NL I’ve experienced in the past. Excellent!

    The good old days...

Posted by Ryan on Jul 18th 2024

Back before hybrids took off there were a few, bubblegum, northern lights, Panama red etc. This cut of NL takes me back and I can't stop smoking it. Beautiful, big , sticky buds that lull you to sleep. Way to go FG!
